And that  is why so many people who have been sailing around this area, finally come back every now and then.<br />

<p>day 1 &#8211; embark in Fiskardo &#8211; sailing to Sarakiniko Bay, beautiful turquoise bay with white gravel beach  &#8211; afternoon sailing between Itaca and Kephalonia &#8211; night-stay at anchor in ormos paliokarvio, Kephalonia.</p>

<p>day 3 &#8211; Swim in the bay of Gulf of Etos &#8211; afternoon sailing to Meganisi &#8211; nightstay in the new marina Odysseas, in the old fisherman village.</p>
<p>day 4 &#8211; Drop anchor in Onassis&#8217;s Island Skorpio &#8211; afternoon sailing around the islands &#8211; night at anchor or in port in one of the three fiords of  Meganisi Island.</p>

<p>Dubrovnik<br />
Dubrovnik is one of the most beautiful old villages in Croatia and, in fact, it protected by UNESCO, thanks to its beauty. George Bernard Shaw wondered if heaven could be like this delightful place, halfway between the earth and the sea. Worth an evening in the oldtown.</p>
<p>Mljet<br />
For those who did not want to wait or have already passed on Friday night in Dubrovnik, we set off to Mljet. After a few miles of sailing with the wind blowing slightly and the sea almost always calm, we drop anchor on Mljet. The island is covered with green, where peace reigns, disturbed only by the sound of cicadas, constant and hypnotic from sunrise to sunset. Diving off a cliff, having a swim or simply enjoying the smell of the Mediterranean is an experience that everyone will save in his own prettiest memories.</p>

Lastovo<br />
Lastovo is a WWF natural park and Mali lake is one of the most pristine bays frequented by yachts, it is protected from almost all winds and you can go ashore and enjoy a lobster in the restaurant overlooking the sea.</p>
<p>Korkula<br />
Cruising from Lastovo to Korkula, we will stop in the southeast coast  to enjoy one of the several beaches, protected from the Mistral. At sunset we will be moored in the port of the  medieval village of Korkula one of the best preserved villages of the Mediterranean, where locals say it is the birthplace of Marco Polo.</p>
<p>Vis &#8211; Viska Luka<br />
We then set sails for the island of Vis, enjoying fresh winds and calm water, enjoying this ideal spot  for sailing, and stopping in the Bay of Viska Luka, where the monastery of Vis lies a few meters from the sea.</p>

Hvar &#8211; Stari Grad<br />
Having dropped anchor on the isle of Palmezana for lunch, we head for Stari Grad in the afternoon. Stari Grad is a medieval port placed in the island of Hvar, at the end of a fjord, one of the most fascinating parts of Croatia. During the summer nightlife spreads out in the several bars, cafes and restaurants on the pier.</p>
<p>Brac<br />
The next morning we set off to Bol, the cone of sand on the southern coast of the island of Brac. This spot is one of the most famous pictures of Croatia and we definitely cannot miss it. In the evening we anchor in the ports of Lucice or Bobovisce.</p>
<p>Split<br />
Finally, we make our way to Split. The old town is a rare gem, where someone could end up buying one of the many studios and renovated apartments overlooking the amphitheater or the other ruins. Definitely worth a walk. In the evening, listening to live music and having a toast with a good glass of red wine will be the perfect good end to this holiday.</p>

As we patiently await the warmer weather and the long summer days, we are preparing Orianda for the next season 2013. Whilst the usual winter maintenance program is under way, we are considering where to take Orianda next summer.

We will be sailing around Capri and Ponza during May, while we will set sail to Greece by the beginning of June.
July and August are likely to be spent between the Cote d’Azur and the Italian Tyrrhenian coast (Portofino, Elba, Ponza, Capri and the ever charming Aeolian Islands). Some of our Guests have already expressed an interest in making provisional bookings during July and August (but they still are flexible on the dates). <p><strong>Our Booking Plan:</strong></p>
<p><strong>May:</strong> &#8211; Orianda will be sailing around Capri and Ponza during May: the weekend 4,5 and 6 is already confirmed, as well as the week 11-18.</p>
<p><strong>June:</strong> &#8211; Orianda will set sail to Greece, so it will be possible to arrange One-Ways from Italy to Corfu, the Ionian Islands as well as the Peloponnese. Final destination: the charming island of Spetses, near Athens.</p>
<p><strong>July and August:</strong> Orianda will be back in the West Mediterranean, so we will be able to embark anywhere from the French Riviera to Sicily in the South of Italy. Two of our Guests have confirmed their intention to be on board during July and August but their dates are flexible, so do not hesitate to contact us to talk about your next sailing trip.</p>
<p><strong>September and October:</strong> we already have some enquiries to charter Orianda at the next Classic Regatta in Monaco and Les Voiles de Saint Tropez. So we will surely attend those key-events, which are ideal also as a corporate event. Last year Orianda won the first prize at the long-regatta in the Classic Challenge in Naples, Italy, and attended, Les Voiles de Saint Tropez.</p>

They are among the most beautiful destinations for those who choose to sail around an unspoiled region of Greece, such as the Peloponnese. Unfortunately they are not so close one another. This means that to visit them all in a week, starting from Athens, we would have to sail quite few miles almost every day: 25-30 Miles per day as average. Perhaps too much, in my opinion. Since I wouldn't want to miss any of them as they are so special, another option could be to embark in Spetses, instead of Athens, so cutting the very first part of the trip. Spetses island is connected to Athens through daily Hydrofoil connections. 
Otherwise there is always the alternative option of sailing from Athens to Kithira in ten days instead of seven. This way will would have average daily sailings of 15-20 Nautical Miles, meaning  one hour or so in the morning + around three hours  in the afternoon, when the wind comes up. To me, this rhythm of sailing is the best way to enjoy free time with family and friends, swimming in the bay  and also have some time for you to relax.<a href="http://www.vintageyachtcharter.com/en/sailing-to-greece-the-peloponnese/">[An itinerary to sail in the Peloponnese]</a>]]></description>

<p><strong>ITINERARY 1 (5 DAYS &#8211; from Saturday till Thursday )</strong></p>
<p>Sat 13th &#8211; Embark at noon in Kithira &#8211; Port Kapshalion, few minutes by taxi from Kithira Airport &#8211; Sailing to St Nicholas bay – Kaladi beach, the “must see” beach on the East side of Kithira &#8211; afternoon sailing around the island. Evening at anchor or near the port if you want to spend the night ashore</p>
<p>Sun 14th &#8211; Sailing to Elafonissos (15 NMiles): Frango Bay &#8211; afternoon Sarakiniko bay: these are among the most charming bays, with Caribbean beaches and turquoise waters. We will spend the day exploring the two beaches.</p>
<p>Mon 15th	 &#8211; Sailing to Fokas bay and stop fo lunch at anchor &#8211; afternoon sailing to Monemvasia (where the Malvasia wine is told to have been invented) spend the night at anchor at the footsteps of the Medieval Fortress (30 Nmiles in the day). A walk ashore in the Medieval village is strongly advised&#8230;</p>
<p>Tue 16th	 &#8211; Sailing to the Fiord of Ieraka (12 NMiles) – Spend the evening at anchor in front of the fisherman’s village &#8211; Night passage to Spetses (about 30 NMiles)</p>

<p>Milena is one of the last great sailing yachts still available for charter in the Mediterranean. Built to Lloyds A1 class in teak and oak to a design of Frederick Sheperd in 1928, she has been immaculately maintained by her present owner/skipper for the last 22 years and is still in perfect condition.</p>
<p>Accommodation is for 6 in two double cabins and one twin cabin each with its own bathroom. The interior is in the elegant tradition of her period.The bright, spacious saloon comfortably and beautifully furnished, is well-ventilated and cool even in summer. Wide decks afford sunbathing space, a dining area and a large sheltered cockpit.</p>

New ribs, new shelf, new beams have been moulded and built up. Ribs have been bent with steam following the old-fashion way by the master shipwright in Tecnomar Shipyard.<br />
Thanks to our partner Chicco Zaccagni we manage to have the original sail-plans of Marga. So we will be able to restore this beautiful 10M IJ to her original. This is something that does not happen so often in classic restoration and a unique opportunity to bring a centenary yacht to her original glory.</p>
<p>Marga will soon become the boat to beat at the future classic regattas of the Mediterranean.</p>

<p>The fourth, final and largest MOONBEAM designed by William Fife Junior was first launched in 1914 and commissioned after the Great War, in 1920.  She is perhaps best described by Uffa Fox: “No matter whether she is under way or at anchor, MOONBEAM is beautiful to look upon and, combining the speed of a racer with the comfort of a cruiser, is a vessel any sea-man would be proud to own.”</p>
<p>And her beauty is not only skin deep; her stylish interior has the look and feel of a gentlemen’s club. The waxed rosewood panelling, the Persian rugs, the antique lamps and leather-bound books, all combine to provide an old world ambience of Edwardian comfort, in stark and satisfying contrast to the elements outside.</p>
<p>The yacht provides luxury accommodation for six guests in a master stateroom with double &amp; single berths and en-suite bath/WC, a double berth guest stateroom with en-suite shower/WC and a further guest cabin with two bunk berths and en-suite shower/WC. She has air-conditioning throughout.</p>
<p>MOONBEAM IV, one of the finest Gaff Cutters of the 20th century and winner of the prestigious King’s Cup at Cowes in 1920 &amp; 1923, is now available for private and corporate charters in the Mediterranean from her base on the Côte d&#8217;Azur.
